Deciding the End at the Beginning: The Soccer Battle Between Manchester United and Chelsea FC

26th Aug, 2013; My favorite sport is soccer(football) and people say am so unfortunate to support Arsenal, cool cos we had not been winning for quit a session now but no regrets, i love Arsenal, (My Bbanky4life sha oooooo, smiles). Tonight is one of the best time i can't wait to see good soccer, though its not my team but Moyes vs Mourinho.Mourinho must decide quickly weather playing Torres, Ba or Lukaku as his main No 9 against the Utd today, no especial interest in any of the 2 teams but analyzing soccer.
The Clash of  the Titans

For soccer lovers all over the world, tonight's EPL match between the age-long rivals, Manchester united and Chelsea FC is a critical match that could decide the possible Winner of the most famous football league in the world. Football analysts have said that the match tonightis seen and regarded as one of the biggest matches, if  not the biggest in the EPL.
For the two coaches, this match may the image booster they've both been waiting for.On the one hand, it is to justify Sir Alex Ferguson's choice of Moyes as the best option for the league's Defending Champions, and on the other hand, it is to justify the return of the one fondly called the "Special One", Mourinho.
For the players though, it is going to be the clash of the titans and the survival of the fittest. First, it presents an opprotunity for  Rooney to advertise himself  to his would-be manager, Jose Mourinho. Second, it offers a window of opportunity for Fernando Torres to shock his critics and their criticisms.
Nevertheless, as a Chelsea fan, I predict victory for Chelsea or a draw.

....And the Winner is Dillish!

Namibia’s Dillish and The Show Presenter,I.K Osakioduwa, shortly after she emerged victorious in the just concluded Big Brother Africa: The Chase last night (25 August) after 91 days in the Big Brother house.

Namibia’s Dillish emerged victorious on Big Brother: The Chase last night (25 August) after 91 days in the Big Brother house. She won more viewer votes in the final

After about three (3) months of intrigues, drama and fun at the house in the Big Brother Africa - The Chase, the winner has finally emerged. She is Dillish, Namibia's representative in the show. The beautiful, cool, calm and collected young Namibian is the proud winner of the three hundred thousand US Dollar ($300,000) cash prize. She won more viewer votes in the final week, to scoop the USD300 000 prize and becomes the 3rd woman to win a season of Big Brother Africa.
Some viewers of the reality show have said that Dillish deserves to win the cash prize, they remarked that from inception of the show till the last moments, Dillish has shown the whole of Africa and the world at large that being courteous and morally decent pays off afterall.
To others, Dillish qualifies as the face of the Big Brother Africa Brand and should automatically be chosen as "the BBA Ambassador" .
From all of us @ segunscorner, we say a very big CONGRATULATION to the winner: Dillish from Namibia.

Mind Your "Lingua"

Language as a system of communication consisting of sounds, words and grammar, is human-specific i.e. it is basically about humans. One major fact about language is that , though it is dynamic, its changes must be based on strict observance and adherence to linguistic rules. Whenever languages are in contact, interference is bound to occur at all levels of linguistic description. The ability of an individual to be aware of this interference and not blunder grammatically marks him as having the mastery of the language.

Eagles Seek Not Yet Repose....

The Super Eagles' victory over the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in yesterday's Mandela Challenge contest, though not an indication that the eagles have arrived, is a huge success and a welcome development in reclaiming and boosting the image of the Eagles as the "Giants of African Football"(Thanks to the hero of the match, Uche nwafor for his double). Nevertheless, both the technical crew members and players should not overstay in the euphoria of celebration and victory.
The Stephen Keshi led-team should leverage on the victory and the positive image derived from it to prepare for future challenges and prove their critics wrong. One area that must be handled right is the injection of  home-based players into the team now that Keshi seems to have free hands to manage the team. However, this should be done without fear or favour of "the powers that be".
Another important aspect that must not be treated with levity is funding and sponsorship of camping and training sessions by the government. As it is widely agreed upon, FOOTBALL/SOCCER is big business and has a huge return on investment.
Finally, the eagles should be made to know that the journey to victory has just begun and should remain focused, dogged and determined to extend their reign from Africa to the World.
Let the Eagles Keep Soaring High!
